Tisno, small croatian village, is divided between an island and mainland, connected by a 20m bascule bridge.

It is first mentioned under the name 'Kraj In Tisno' in 1474. The place owes its name to the Croatian word for 'strait' (tisno) where a narrow sea-flow separates the mainland from the island.

The historic, old part of Tisno is on the island and the new part is on the mainland.
